Chinese Silvergrass Seed Shows Long-term Viability

چکیده
Chinese silvergrass ( Miscanthus sinensis ) is native to East Asia and South Africa has been grown as an ornamental in the United States for over 100 years. on invasive species list 12 states regulated sale New York state. It often found along roadsides middle-Atlantic Long Island, NY. In 2019 2020, we sowed chinese seed harvested Fall 2002 Spring 2003 from several locations North Carolina where it had naturalized Minnesota Landscape Arboretum, Chaska, MN. The stored a storage vault (4 °C) 2020. Germination showed variation between 53% 95% 19 different individual plants. This same when resown 2020 much lower germination that could be divided into three categories: no (five plants), of 1% or less (seven more than 2% plants). Results this study show viability may long-term problem naturalized.

P19: Long-Term Potentiation
The term synaptic plasticity points to a series of persistent changes related to the activity of synapses. Long-term potentiation (LTP) is a reflection of synaptic plasticity that has an important role in learning and memory. LTP is a long-lasting increase of synaptic activity due to enhancement of excitatory synaptic transmission after a high-frequency train of electrical stimulations. Differe...
متن کاملLong-term storage and viability of Ochlerotatus albifasciatus (Diptera: Culicidae).
The viability of Ochlerotatus albifasciatus (Macquart) eggs stored at room temperature and at 5 degrees C was studied over 31 months. After 12, 18 and 31 months of storage, eggs were acclimatized at 22 degrees C for ten days, and then inundated twice every seven days. The effect of the storage period on the percentage of hatching was analyzed by one way ANOVA. Differences on the hatching respon...

OBJECTIVE To investigate the long-term in vivo effect of laser dosimetry on rabbit septal cartilage integrity, viability, and mechanical behavior. METHODS Nasal septal cartilage specimens (control and irradiated pairs) were harvested from 18 rabbits. Specimens were mechanically deformed and irradiated with an Nd:YAG laser across a broad dosimetry range (4-8 W and 6-16 seconds). Treated specim...
متن کاملLong-Term IGF-I Exposure Decreases Autophagy and Cell Viability
A reduction in IGF-I signaling has been found to increase lifespan in multiple organisms despite the fact that IGF-I is a trophic factor for many cell types and has been found to have protective effects against multiple forms of damage in acute settings. The increase in longevity seen in response to reduced IGF-I signaling suggests that there may be differences between the acute and chronic imp...
متن کاملViability of Long-Term Gene Therapy in the Cochlea
Gene therapy has been investigated as a way to introduce a variety of genes to treat neurological disorders. An important clinical consideration is its long-term effectiveness. This research aims to study the long-term expression and effectiveness of gene therapy in promoting spiral ganglion neuron survival after deafness. Adenoviral vectors modified to express brain derived neurotrophic factor...
